Self Tapping and Inner Child Healing Workshop

Living Consciouslyy Foundation is coming up with Self Tapping and Inner Child Healing Workshop on 1st and 8th June, 2024 by Puja Kanth who is a Counselling Psychologist, ‘Accredited EFT Master Trainer of Trainers’ with EFT International. She specializes in trauma recovery. She conducts Accredited EFT training in affiliation with EFT International. The workshop will be conducted in the following format.

Part 1: Self Tapping Workshop | 8th June, 2023 | 10:00 am to 01:00 am

In this 3 hour Self Tapping EFT workshop, you’ll learn how to apply Basic EFT on yourself for stress, pain and anxiety. You’ll also learn how to apply EFT for self-regulation.

Part 2: Inner Child Healing | 8th June, 2023 | 10:00 am to 11:30 am

In EFT, we define inner child as a sensory -visual way of working with younger parts of ourselves – getting in touch with all our earlier younger versions of ourselves – that could benefit from attention, acknowledgment and acceptance. EFT tapping can make a real difference in healing broken inner child walking around inside an adult. The 3 hour workshop will take you back to your childhood, step-by-step through certain processes that help you connect to your inner child. The program combines inner child healing with EFT to enable real and rapid transformations.

Q1: What is Inner Child Healing and How Connecting with our Inner Child Can help us in our lives?

Answer: Inner Child Healing is a therapeutic approach that involves connecting with and healing the younger parts of ourselves. These parts can be in different ages, such as a toddler, a young child, or a teenager. These earlier versions of ourselves carry the experiences and emotions we went through during our formative years.

In the context of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), we define the Inner Child as a part of ourselves that we can work with in a sensory and visual way. This process involves acknowledging and addressing the unmet needs and emotions from our childhood. These needs include:

a)Secure Attachment: Feeling safe and securely attached to caregivers.
b)Permission to Feel All Emotions: Including negative ones, in a safe environment.
c)Permission to Play: Engaging in play without fear or restriction.
d)Security: Feeling protected and secure while growing up.

Many of us, for various reasons, felt unloved, not good enough, or abandoned during our childhood. These feelings may have arisen intentionally or unintentionally due to unmet needs. Even with the best intentions, parents might not meet every need, and the degree to which these needs are unmet can vary.

When we work with EFT, we connect with these earlier versions of ourselves and their unmet needs. By doing so, we aim to bring healing to these parts by providing what they lacked at the time. The unmet needs from our childhood can affect us as adults, leading to the development of coping mechanisms to handle these deficiencies. These coping mechanisms often persist into adulthood, influencing our behaviors and emotional responses.

EFT helps by bringing about change through this connection with the Inner Child, addressing the root causes of our current issues and allowing us to heal and grow. By meeting the needs of our Inner Child now, we can transform the coping mechanisms that no longer serve you. 

Q2: Why Do We Start with Self-Tapping Before Inner Child Healing in the Workshop?

Answer: EFT is a specialized technique where even a basic understanding can help you regulate yourself. Inner child sessions, especially in a group setting, can be powerful and may connect you with emotions or memories you haven’t previously accessed. This connection can sometimes lead to feeling overwhelmed as you interact with a younger version of yourself, bringing up unexpected emotions.

In the self-tapping workshop, we focus on teaching the basics of EFT through a step-by-step standard protocol. This foundational knowledge is crucial because it equips you with the tools to manage feelings of overwhelm or intense emotions that might arise during inner child healing. Sometimes, engaging with these deep emotions can lead to a surge of energy, which needs to be regulated.

During the workshop, we will discuss the basic EFT protocol and techniques to manage varying intensity levels. When practicing EFT on your own, one common challenge people face is handling the fluctuating intensity of their issues. This involves managing the sensations, feelings, and thoughts that arise in your body.

By learning to handle stress and anxiety and regulate yourself through EFT, you will have a better experience during the group inner child healing sessions. This preparation ensures the session is more powerful and allows you to feel more in control.

Q3: Who Can Join the Workshop?

Answer: The self-tapping workshop is open to everyone. Anyone can join, and learning the basics of EFT benefits everyone.

The inner child group workshop, however, is specifically designed for those who are already somewhat in touch with their inner child. It is not recommended for individuals with a complex trauma history. This workshop is ideal for people who are experiencing stress or difficult emotional states and feel their childhood was less than perfect. If you want to connect with your younger self, bring more joy and playfulness into your life, and experience greater authenticity, this workshop is for you. Participants should have some prior experience with inner child work for the most impactful results.

Q4: How Effective Will This Be Online?

Answer: Since COVID, all my work has been conducted online, including trauma recovery sessions. EFT is highly effective in an online setting because it involves active participation from you, not just guidance from the facilitator and the group. During the sessions, you are tapping on yourself as I guide you. This self-tapping ensures that changes occur because you are directly involved in the process.

Online sessions are empowering, as they allow you to be present with yourself through tapping. As a result, online EFT sessions can be just as deep and effective as in-person ones.
